HALTON ALARM RESPONSE AND PROTECTION LTD. (H.A.R.P.) understands that in order to provide top quality service to the community, and to ensure the safety of its officers, these officers must be professionals. In an industry forced to cut costs at every turn, many security companies have opted for cutting back on training. H.A.R.P., on the other hand, takes pride in, and breathes easier knowing its officers are some of the most highly trained, and dedicated security officers on the industry.

With skilled security officers a priority, H.A.R.P. administers a hiring process modeled on one many police departments use. In order to maintain the highest standards in the industry, the process takes weeks to complete, and ensures the selection of only the most qualified applicants. Unlike many other security companies, before H.A.R.P. interviews a potential candidate for employment, it is mandatory they be enrolled in, or have graduated from, a Law & Security Program offered at the community college level. In addition, they must be currently certified in Standard First Aid and CPR.

Should the applicant meet the basic requirements, H.A.R.P. then begins the hiring process in earnest, most of which allows senior management to observe how they perform under stress, their physical abilities as well as aptitude. After passing all associated testing with an 80% average or more, the applicant is personally interviewed by the board. This completed, H.A.R.P. conducts a thorough document and background check that includes a Criminal Record Search through the Police Services and Driver's abstract. This is followed by further testing, extensively covering all pertinent areas of Security. It is only at this point that H.A.R.P. reviews and chooses the top percentage of applicants.

As a part of the requirements to become a H.A.R.P. security officer, the management has developed a training schedule that builds on prior abilities and, as in everything, they demand outstanding results. Once employed, it is mandatory that all H.A.R.P. security personnel continue training in all facets of security, including Security Officer's Training Courses, Self Defence, Ice Water Rescue, and First Responder Fire Protection.

The final result is the certainty of knowing the person behind the wheel of a H.A.R.P. security vehicle is a highly trained, professional security officer, dedicated to providing quality service in meeting all their client's needs.

"...We have also had the occasion to utilize the services of H.A.R.P. for the purpose of an internal investigation and incidents of monitoring the activities of suspicious individuals on our property. These situations were also handled in a professional and discreet manner."
