Both retired from HARP | Geoff & Balrog HARP ORIGINAL Canine Team.
HARP's canine unit was a finely tuned team. This unit was implemented in the fall of 1996 to assist the security response technicians when responding to potentially dangerous situations. At the time, K9 Handler, Geoff Gardiner, a former member of the Halton Regional Police Service, was teamed with a 4 year old Rottweiller by the name of Balrog. Since approximately 2003, HARP has been working very closely with private and public handlers of these specialty K9 units. Working along side them, being involved with the unique training and drills that are needed to train these amazing dogs. HARP Security Response Technicians have gained a great amount of knowledge of how the teams work together, and how to aid them in preserving a crime scene until their arrival. It has been a real honour for HARP Security to be involved in this specialized training and to be part of their accomplishments. Also to be present at the graduations of these unique teams. They are a definitely as asset to the policing forces in our communities. |
